Both Amp&Deck?

I have a Pioneer DEH-8400BH, can I run speakers off the deck and amps with the RCA's? It has front/rear/sub/ RCA's.

you can run 4 speakers off the headunit and then attach a sub using rcas through the back preamp outputs.

if your asking if you can use the front/rear rcas for an external amp and the wiring harness then the answer is no. one or the other must be connected both is impossible. in my set up i have an amp for mids/highs and amp for subs i use the rca outputs on the back. screw that 50 watts x 4 crap go 150x 4 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Well for one what purpose would using the wiring harness for your four door / panel speaker serve if you've got an amp powering them? Somewhere along the line the wires for the harness wont be used, if RCAs are coming from the headunit to rear 4 channel amp then to the door / panel speakers your current wiring harness wires to speakers wouldn't be in use. Now if you want to let's say use a amp to power two rear speakers and then the wiring Harness for the two front speakers I think it might be possible but from what I understand about my headunit which is the Hu in question I'd say no I think the Hu detects when there's RCAs connected and supplying a signal. Might be the remote wire that let's the HU know not to send a signal through the harness. I havent tested it this way before though so I'm not going to say yes I know or no I'm sure

I actually went ahead and wired up the the two 2" mids from the deck, and then used the front RCA's to power the 5.25's and it worked. I realize though the volume can't be controlled between the two other than the gain on the amp. Not bad though. Now I think I'll just use the rear out the deck for the tweeters, bridge the other two channels for my sub, and I'm done. BTW, this is a small convertible, so fading is useless, not really a front/rear anyway.
