I found this amp for $60 on cl and was wondering how overrated it is.

1200@4ohm

2200@2ohm

peaks

3000@1ohm

even if itll only do 1000rms @ 1ohm its only 6 cents/watt

from what I recall, at least some versions of the boss 3000d were based on the lanzar vibe1200d PCB (as were many other amps). From what I recall, people had tested it to be good to around 1200W@1, 800W@2, 400W@4. I'm not entirely sure why the power dropped off in the 1ohm case, but that line of class D amps did have a fairly low damping factor.

From what I recall, at the time the price was competitive with the 1200d, making the amp less appealing in forum discussions, as it was overrated.
