Bose Suspension!! check this out

no man, his home theater. that must be some pretty crazy shit tho, cuz I got the lifestyles 48, with a 48" LCD and the wave radio with an amp for 8700 CDN

So I have Bose systems in my house and both my trucks, and discovered what i want now from those guys!

this system is outstanding, the engineering and shear technology in it is incredible. they have some cool quicktime clips you can check out too.

anyway, just figured there might be some of you interested in more depth performance than some of the norm....
welcome to last year....thats old news

it was a system they dont offer off the shelf. the only people that have acces to it are the pro audio installers that are contracted through bose. it was all in ceiling stuff. everything was either in wall or ceiling. it wasnt that hard for me to do thought because my house was gutted down to the framework/studs.

so there still isnt any actual reasons refering to lack of product reliabilty or stats comparisons??? Once again, just curious if it's a brand thing or there's some solid reasoning.

Its just that Bose could do so much more with the with the audio technology they have created. Bose has the potential to build amazing stuff at affordable prices yet they do not, they give you less for more.

Their corporate greed is their downfall.

Their new suspension design is brilliant and I bet the prototypes work flawlessly but I can guarantee that the production models will be outrageously expensive and riddled with problems due to the way they do things.

It's not that impressive, cadillac has been using a ferro-fluid in thier dampers for several years now that changes viscosity when electrical current is applied, so the shock can go from firm to soft like 1000 a second. That shit is cool as hell.

my truck rides fine. the porsche goes around a corner, its all good the way it is. dont try to re-invent the wheel.

This works completely different they are based on a speaker motor design.

Imagine the wheel as the speaker cone and the car as the basket

when a bump is hit it forces the cone inward, the control box senses this and tells the amp to send a + signal to force the cone out and counteract the inward force. The opposite happens on rebound a - signal is sent to pull the cone in and stop the cone from springing outward.

This process uses frictionless magnetic force, it is much smoother and can respond much faster.

The ferro fluid shocks use electric fields to change the consistency of the fluid, when an electrical field is applied to a ferro fluid it thickens and results in the shock stiffening, the stronger the field the stiffer the shock. They are basically a regular oil shock that can adjust firmness automatically, its a very good design but not as effective as the Bose suspension design.

It's pretty brilliant, I wish I was in my fourth year engineering as opposed to first so I would be able to comprehend the design a bit more... Or better yet, I'd have more time to just research it, school is a b*tch and leaves me no time to host a real life! ahhh... lol

Where are you an engineering student at?? Im in Mechanical at LSU, and I have time for a rather busy social life (except for this weak FINALS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif )
