BOSE question

I gotta a 03 silverado...it has bose..i just bought some 4x6 plates and a twetters component for the back... and this week im planning on buying a new head unit...is there any way you can bypass the bose or do you have to replace everything?..i hear there is a new bypass thing to bypass it but i dont have new front components yet...

the problem with stock systems such as bose is that their amplifiers usually produce their power at an ungodly low impedance to keep them small. If you put 4 ohm speakers on an amp that produces that power at 1 ohm or less, you might as well be running them off the head unit.

Best way to do this is just to completely bypass the entire factory system.

I was doing an install the other day on a car with a bose system. OMFG was it a pain in the arse. We ended up pulling everything and ran new. I honestly cannot believe how some of these car makers are putting things into their stock head units to keep aftermarket out of installing new. Seatbelt warning light is considered a safety feature... along with airbag light... When will it end?!

I hear with the newere trucks like this, there is a security feature in the hu and that has to be hooked up at all time to have the truck run. My cousin has a 05 2500hd and they told him his radio has to sit under the rear seat hooked up to have a new hu put in
