Bose is a problem! HELP

My 04 Chevy Avlanche with Bose is giving me fits.

Does the factory head unit trim base as you turn up the volume?

What does everybody usually see for voltage on the audio leads going to the bose amp?

How does most people usually integrate subs with the bose?

yes it does you could try this product from mtx my cousin did and it helped alot

What are you trying to do? Just add subs to your factory bose? You have several options depending on how much you're willing to spend. Your best option is to get a new HU and bypass the Bose system completely. Thats what I did in my Tahoe. Let me know what you want from your system and I'll help you. I tried everything in my Tahoe at one point or another.

That MTX adapter seems neat. Does it include everything I need to tie into the bose. I thought about getting one of them PAC adapters to tie in as well. I would love to keep the factory head unit. I have never seen a

Which PAC? If you get a line level converter it will be crossed over to whatever the Bose preset is. If you buy a PAC add an amp plug you will run into the problem of the bass output going down as you turn the volume up. It will sound decent when the car is parked but at highway speeds its not so great. That MTX unit looks ok but you will still be at the mercy of the factory crossover.

Are you looking to add an amp to power your highs also? JL Audio makes a unit called a "Cleansweep" It would work great. Some other companies make similar units also. Memphis makes one Cheaper than the JL (can't remember offhand what it's called). I would go with it. These units take the processed signal from the factory HU and Level everything out to a "clean" signal.

bose system is ftl... some vehilces with bose have an outboard amplifier for the door speakers with causes trouble with placing a aftermarket h/u.
