Body Kits.. advice needed

I just purchased a '97 Camry XLE. It's fully loaded and the interior is pretty much exactly how I would want it. The exterior is currently white with the gold package (emblems, etc). I don't mind the white since I think the gold package sets it off, but I think it needs a wing and body kit to really set the whole car off.

I am not looking for a sticker laden, neon'd anime autobot car. I just want to make people double check it when they go by, not immediately filing it away as "yet another white camry/sedan".

Obviously at this point it's 100% stock. You can view a picture HERE.

I don't know too much (translation: anything) about body kit mods. I don't know which brands are good, which to avoid. I don't know how much I'm going to need to spend or how many options there are. I have found a couple pictures of other Camry's that have body kits of some kind. I think they're Razzi?

Camry Front-End

Camry Back-End

That front end is pretty similar to what I would like, but maybe something with that really tight knit wire mesh. The overall shape though is what I'm going for. I'm not interested in those ones that protrude forward really far.

The back end photo is also pretty similar to what I had in mind for the overall shape, though I plan on putting some sort of dual exhaust on my camry. Currently it just has the goofy stock exhaust with the big muffler and boring pipe. Which actually raises another question.

How much and what sort of exhaust would I need to get a nice dual exhaust setup? It doesn't have to affect performance, I'm not looking to race this car. Ideally it'd have dual exhaust and then split tips for a total of 4 "ports" in the back.

Back to the body kit, if you look at both those other camry's the skirts have a weird part in the middle where it has a gap of some sort. I definitely do not like that style. So I'm not sure what sort of option to go for there.

Anyway, to make a long post short (oops, too late) I'm looking for any advice on body kits and mufflers. What kind of pricing to expect, difficulty of self-install (for the body kits) any anything else ya'll can think of.

Thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

For 20 bucks u can go buy those muffler tips that u screw on to the end of ur existing tip. Now go buy 3 of those. Screw on on the end of ur old muffler. Then screw then other two on the new dual tips. ANd you will have 4 exhaust "ports" that will look just as good any other way.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Well I was meaning to have two sets of dual tips, one on each side. Something like the below picture:

I'm not sure if that's what you were intending to indicate was possible with your suggestion or not. I just wanted to clarify.

do it right like that guy did...

I was just kidding. Don't rice it out too much though, You're walking a dangerous line.

Trust me, I do not want a fast & the furious clone or whatever. I want just enough body modding to set the car off and distinguish it from the same exact car that you see all over. In other words I want a reaction like, "Oh hey what's what? Ahh okay a camry, cool". I don't want stickers, neon, crazy colors or anything like that. That's why I'd go for a nice aesthetic body kit, the aforementioned exhaust and a nice, clean non-stock looking set of rims.

Not only do I not want it "riced out" but I don't want to basically paint it with a big sign that says "STEAL ME NOW".

since when are body kits aesthetic?

ya, lets go add more weight to our economy cars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

let me guess, you need your car to gain attention from people right?

****ing ******

Try finding a dictionary and looking up "aesthetic". And no, like anything else I own.. I own it for *me*. I'm sure you wouldn't drive a primer gray pinto, even if it ran great. But hey, your holier than thou, judgemental attitude totally rocks. How's it working out for you in the real world?

I like your complete lack of any worthwhile contribution to the thread though. I guess if you don't know what you're talking about, random and unsolicited insults are the perfect substitute.

God no. I don't want to pretend I have a real engine in my car. I either want to have a real one (ie, buy a sports or high end luxury car) or just not even bother trying to act like it's anything. It is at least the v6 so it's the enough power for my meager tastes.

And yeah I can see how maybe some of the linked images gave the wrong idea. I was using them only to illustrate a couple pieces of those cars, not the entire look or whatever. No bee-in-a-can, neon mothership, rice rocket for me! Just something to set it off a little bit. In other words, make it so you won't expect to see an old lady driving it, heh. At the same time I don't want it to look like this guy drives it either.

throw that razzi kit on, lower it throw some enkei's. call it a day.

razzi makes good products, thats what my tbird has. VERY durable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.
