boat install

my brother jsut got a boat today, and he may buy 4 tens with a 1000 watt amp, dont know what kind or any thing, it has a crappy jvc head unit in it, but it has 2 pre amp outs, i was wondering is the whole install the same as a car??? or are there any differences, also would he want to go with sealed or ported? when i find the type of subs and amp ill let ya know

I would go sealed and the only diff thing..

if i remember right when i hooked one up on my boat this past summer i grounded mine to a bolt on the engine. It was a small screw so i unscewed it and put the wire on it then screwed it back in and it worked.

hmm well now there is an external amp for 4 6.5's i could see where that is grounded
