Hi, I'm trying to get my sony dsx s210x to work, but can't get the power to come on. I wired power and ground straight to the battery, didn't connect the memory, or the illumination wires. Could this be why I'm not getting any power?

for the deck to power up all you should need is the black wire grounded, and the red and yellow wire to +12v. for boats i always install or use an existing switch for the red wire, and if you don't use the boat for long periods of time and you don't want to deck drawing any power from the battery, then put the yellow and red wire on a switch.
