i'm about to tackle the job of putting in a simple single DIN headunit into my girlfriends 1999 BMW z3 convertible. Needed to know if there would be any complications I would run into. Never put one into a BMW before.

you will run into a complication getting the harness out if you've never done one before lol

Wish I could help you on that......When you're in there could you take a peak around. I'm gonna be doing the same thing shortly on my 99 BMW Z3 M. I'm hoping there's room in there for a satellite box for either Alpine of Eclipse.

go to bimmerforums.com great forum with tons of bmw specific info.

i don't know about the z3 specifically, but in my 325, the hu sleeve does not come out. so mounting the hu is a bit of a pain.

a harness adapter comes in handy. otherwise you will be splicing and dicing.

you'll probably need an antenna adapter also.
