Blue Screen help!

My fiance's laptop is having a pretty big problem.

When you power it on, it goes to the choose the method of startup screen....start Windows normally, in safe mode, in safe mode with networking, etc.....no matter what you choose, it'll load for a few seconds, go to a blue screen and restarts automatically. So basically, there is no way for me to get into Windows and fix the problem.

Any ideas????

Also, what causes this? She is pretty careful with her laptop, but her friend does go on it for MySpace and all that jazz.
