Shop says itll be just as loud / sound better if they seal em and just face them through a big hole between the cab and bed. My advice was 4th order with just a 12 inch x 12 inch hole cut in the cab and the port sticking through it. Im convinced they might not be comfortable with the calculations on a 4th order.

They dont know how to do a 4th. Its not just making a 12x12 hole and there. Its alot more complex. 4th blowhroughs take some time to do right it might take a few different boxes. Im going to do a blow through ported for 2 15s subs and port into cab

The shop says itll sound better/louder because they know if they build you a 4th chances are itll be a fart box. If they go sealed well its kinda hard to mess up a sealed box. Find someone to do you a design and have the shop just cut and build the box.

this ^

most shops dont do fourth orders regularly, it takes practical knowledge and some luck. if you're going through the whole deal with a blow though, id take as much airspace up as possible building a 4th.

I would not have that shop do your install...

Just do ported into the cab, not a 4th order. Hell, if you don't need the back seat, just build a box in the cab

+1 in the cab, you can fit two 15s in the back, subs up port up or subs up port to drivers side

Here is a 6th order with 2 18"s we did two weeks ago in a silverado. This thing had some crazy bandwidth.

how do you seal around the hole in the cab through the bed? just a bunch of epoxy and sealer? lol

id be worried about rust and the bed moving seperate from the cab (yes, this happens), it'd have to be really solid

Kinda different space requirements and sound signatures. Basically boxes on each end of the spectrum. What do you want?

Don't know why people dog sealed so much either. I'm willing to bet most that do have never attempted a sealed build.
