Ok well I installed my stereo today and it worked awesome for like 5 hours. It sounded great, had no voltage drops, and I was only using not even half of the amp's power. Well I was just out listening to it at about half volume then the subs just kicked off and I could smell the infamous smell of electronics burning. I pulled the fuse and it was blown but I don't think it saved the amp. The amp really stinks STILL. I pulled the cover off and there are no noticable burn marks on the board at all but the smell is comming from a specific area...

the smell is comming from these two things

I have no clue what it could be... is it fixable? if it's not does anyone want a fried amp?

I took the amp out because of the smell comming from it. I took it inside and hooked it up to my test computer power supply just to see if it would turn on. When I hooked it up the fan starts to spin but no power light comes on and the fan stops after a short time and puts my power supply into protection. Seems like the amp is shorted somewhere.

does the power supply have enough power to run the amp?it may be 12-13v but only put out 2-3 amps which won't do anything but run the fan and because its pulling so much current that it shuts it down.just put a new fuse inline and hook it back up in your car.if its shorted it'll pop the fuse right away but if it's not it should come alive! leave your speakers un hooked just in case you have a bad coil that is causing the problem!good luck

if it is still out send me more pictures in detail the whole board but try to get it without the bright spot.

Then Put in only like a 40 amp fuse or around that hook up the power and ground and jump on the remote see if it powers up.

Test out your sub also to make sure it isnt shorted and took out the amp.

ok well I removed all of the brackets and still see no signs of burns or anything... Pics will be up after the camera charges.
