I got a couple of blown type X's from my buddy. one coil on one sub is good, lol. so im gunna either wall socket that one or plug it into my truck give it 1600 watts rms free. i have disassembled the other one, my question is can i use the motor and parts? or is it my new nail collector???

I know what a shorting ring is, and I'm trying to figure out how you came to that conclusion.

480 3 phase.... Have fun hooking that to a sub with individual coils. I would lol at how a QVC sub would work with 3 of the coils running, one phase would be at peak while one was at 60 degrees off and the other 30 degrees off, that would be weird looking.

hook up 2 lines direct to coils watch it fly. Just make sure its on a big breaker 480 burns shit up good. Or hit it with 277 that it teach it a lesson

Looks like it can be reconed to be sum kind of frankenwoofer, i'd talk to TeamPSI or woofercooker see what they might be able to do with it.

yea it looks to be a standard 3" coil. the shorting ring is the copper piece on top of the pole...
