won't matter.plus i set it without car running is that ok or does it need to be running
how wouldnt it matter with the car running if u set it for 100 watts its gonna take turning the gain higher since its only at 12 volts then when the car is running around 14volts or so it wont need as much power as u have the gain set to with the car offwon't matter.
you could use a -3db test tone instead. that'll give you another 3db.
thats not how it works.how wouldnt it matter with the car running if u set it for 100 watts its gonna take turning the gain higher since its only at 12 volts then when the car is running around 14volts or so it wont need as much power as u have the gain set to with the car off
it shouldn't matter. you're simply comparing input(at the rca's) to output (at the speaker terminals).well i thought it sure was because if an amp is rated to do 100 watts at 14volts and u set it with the car off for 100 watts at 12volts and then when its on its going to be doing more than 100 watts and sending a clipped signal
i have set gains with it off before then cranked it up and checked and the volts were much higher
