blowing speakers

do speakers blow because you have too big of an amp put to them... or because your amp is not powerfull enough for the speakers?

No sub ever in history has been blown by being underpowered with a clean signal.

i think he is referring to having the gains cranked and sending a bad signal and trying to power the speaker with the rms specs even though the amp isnt rated to do that much power

most speakers dont blow the voicecoil wires get ripped out mostly or they burn up ... but never because of not enough power
