blowing fuses

ok so im running 2 10 w6's and they're wired to 2 ohms, so each are probably seeing around 500 watts, probably less then that because i haven't upgraded my electrical at all. recently i have been cranking up my music and amp shut off. i check the in-line fuse and sure enough its blown. i didn't think anything of it, i just replaced it to see if it was a fluke, lol to that last part, and of course the second one blew. Im running 4 gauge wire into a 60 amp fuse. i was considering just getting a bigger fuse, but im not sure about that. i will be doing the big 3 soon and i was going to run 1/0 to the amp but im not sure if thats necessary or not. the amp is the rf T8002. i was just wondering if upgrading the wiring would fix this problem or what you guys think i should do.

exact same situation i was in earlier today........my amp shuts off, no power, i was like ****.........checked amp fuses, they were fine. checked inline fuse and it was toast. I had only a 60a fuse and 4 gauge, and it wasn't enough.

When i got the fused replaced I upgraded the power wire to 1/0 and did the big three in 1/0. I have a 150a fuse now. Only difference is I have 1800w

if you install a bigger fuse it will fix the problem..

yeah i think my amp is only capable of 1300 or so watts, so ima upgrade wiring and fuse, thanks.

Be careful just replacing fuses. The amp may be over drawing the fuse and blowing it, or there could be a short.

Before you even consider putting in a bigger fuse, you should check that wire for problems.
