if you knew what you were doing you wouldnt just turn your gains to 3/4 and call it square. you have to level match things. every system is differant therefore all gain settings are differant.i do know wat im doing..i did my resarch on here to see what people set there gains on hifonics amps and most do it at 3/4 but now i know beter ima leave it at around 1/2 way for now on..but wat caused the promblem was my HU that sent a clipped to my speakers causing my coils to go on my subs..ohwell no HU or speakers cuz the intrernal amp blew out also
i think ur confusing 3/4 gains to 3/4 volume on headunit
dont go over 3/4 volume on your headunit when setting your gains by ear or by dmm. most headunit clip not to much further after 3/4 the volume limit. for alpine i think it goes up to 35 - 36, i leave mine at 28 - 29 no higher. 29 for low volume level recorded music

You can set the gains high on any amp. The question is whether or not your speakers can handle it.but the reason why i had it on 3/4 way on gains because i did my research on here and most people with hifonics u can set ur gains high but i guess its all lies
