Blew my sub, now looking for a new 18” any recommendations

I use to have a 18” fi btl, until I blew the sub, my fault, so im looking for a new one, but don’t know much about built quality or reliability anything really, I know pyle is **** lol but Ive heard nightshades are pretty good even xxx, but since ive only had one 18” sub before, I really don’t know much on anything or even companies that are good or not, any recommendations on a new sub

Why dont you get the BTL reconed. Its one of the best high power subs out there

I only posted 2 threads, ones for a question on how I blew my sub, the other one is this one, so I don’t know where your getting me posting the same question when ive only posted two threads so far

how much would it be to recone it? I don’t know exactly if thatll fix it, its hard as a rock, voice coils might be gone or maybe reconing it will fix it, I really don’t know

I don't think you know what reconing is. It'll for sure fix it unless you broke the motor somehow (which I highly doubt).

Reconing is replacing all of the soft parts (voice coil, suspension, cone, surround, dust cap.....). So you replace everything but the motor and basket.

So you could re cone. Or you could sell the motor for about $200, and then buy something different.

You could look into:

Sundown nightshade

Incriminator dp

Ssa zcon

Dd 9500

Aq hdc3 or 4

Ascendant audio mayhem

Some form of a tc 3hp (axis, ti, etc...)

Some form of a tc 4hp (ti pro, trf, tsp, etc...)

Out of those, it really just depends on what you want out of them. Some will meter better than others for competitions. Some will get really nasty low and loud. And some will sound better than others.
