I did most of the blazer build in the midwest at my buddy's body shop. He gets stuff wholesale, so I went through him. I built the truck for next to nothing, have more $ in the rims and tires than in the rest of the truck. Alot of the front clip (bumper etc) came from Keystone, parts like the rubbers etc came from LMC Truck, misc pieces from the internet (grill came from ebay... but Im gonna change it out).

Keep us posted on the elco project. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I forgot to mention I also have a 64 and 66 elco myself, but they are still in Florida (I live in Cali now) and Im afraid of what I'll find when I go back for them.

Thanks lionel and Goldtaz. Ive done all the work myself (well, like 99% of it) and I think its turned out to look pretty good. Appreciate the comments, Ive worked pretty hard on it, plus two 4x4's, a chevelle, an impala, dad's harley, brother's 4x4, etc etc... Waaaay too many projects, that's why this blazer isn't finished yet.
Well, pretty good is quite an understatement and in light of all the other projects I definitely have to give you the thumbs way up:2thumbs: !! Very nice indeed.

Thankyou thankyou. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I built the truck as it sits for about $6k, which includes the original price of the truck and $3k in wheels/tires. There is something to be said for having a buddy with wholesale prices, and doing the work yourself.

Ive actually had several people in real life that told me they thought it was a new model coming out they hadn't seen yet. Not bad for a 19 year old truck I think. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I actually get alot of positive comments from middle age and older people.

Yeah, I don't think you could have made a better choice on the wheels. I am actually on the lookout for one of those myself. A good friend of mine is actually really car savy and we are thinking that an S-10 blazer would love nothing more than to have a 350 sitting under the hood. Of course it would be built from the block up and all told would have something like 300 horses. What a cool *** site that would be to roll up in my blazer that's on the ground with some fancy chrome rims that's capable of handing most ricers their ***!!! HAHAHA!!!

I thought about putting a smallblock in my blazer. I have a nice little 327 with doublehump heads I was gonna toss in it. But with gas prices these days, and most of my other vehicles having bigblocks in them, I decided to stay with the 4.3. But I'll prolly dump a vortec in it one of these days. Thought you might want to see a couple before pics:

There was no rust, and only one small dent in the body, but wow the people who owned the truck before me were total slobs (interior was disgusting) and had done little to no maintenance on the truck in years.

Current system blew... Wanna make a whole new system, ditch my shit for cheap... (2 SX"s, ones good condition still, other needs a recone, both 1200d's blew...)

Preferably looking at the new Autotek amps that are being built really well now that they took over from the japanese company even tho they are still being built overseas. I'm *PRETTY* set on choosing that line of amps... But not sure what subs to go with. I want shit wired down to 1 ohm so they g2 come in dual 2 ohms. I'm going to be getting one or 2 1000watt autotek amps. I DO NOT want to purchase anything online since after this shit blowing I dont wanna deal with the no return policy shit... I had 2 12" sx's in a **PREFAB** box powered by ONE 1200d. I want something louder. I kno i could get the same, put more power to it and get a custom ported and be louder right there. But I don't wanna go with RE anymore even though they are a great company.

So here's what I need...

6 speakers to replace my stocks

Amp to power them

Mainly SPL but decent SQ Subs (2 15"s)

Amp to power them (Mainly lookin at Autotek at the moment)

Battery for under the hood, and second battery (Maybe 2 yellow tops?)

Already have a Clarion 955 touchscreen deck so I'm set there.

My blazers already 0 gauged up, and ready with 4 guage inputs so lets hear some stuff and recommened anythign else I'm forgetting.

(Since this just happened I want the amps powering the subs to their max *W.O* the gain all the way up because I dont want the amps going quickly like this time...)

Sry for the long post, just know all you guys have good exp with your SUV's and looking for whats been good/bad for you guys. REALLY dont wanna have to get a new alternator... so how have u guys been doin with that part of your system?

I definitely feel you on the gas problem. Just when I thought you couldn't wow me anymore!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/omg.gif.05aa02c3095d6ce9338996654eca0863.gif Those pics really help put things in a different perspective of where it once was and where it is now. Now I really want to get one of those.
