Blacks Shouldn't Make Movies

APPARENTLY YOUR BLACK AND YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY COMMENTS- face it,blacks dont know how to act in public and in front of a camera. thats why the graduation percentage is only 32% in mostly black schools. i cant believe we taught y'all how to ride bicycles and play harmonicas- what will black people do next //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
I suppose you know how to act in public, considering you don't even know how to act on an online forum.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif how bout you come take me to the zoo, see if you are as much of a badass as you try to make yourself seem. The issue with your comments is that you bring your racist comments to what was a discussion and ruin it just to try to get a rise out of somebody. Who really looks like the fool? You are just proving your immaturity.

Oh and where did you pull that percentage from? did you take one instance to try and help to prove a point you don't have or did you actually research and compare and try to get an average? I can do the same thing, the highest is 85% for predominantly black schools, just 10% lower than the highest for predominately white schools. All these numbers mean nothing though. We aren't talking about graduating from high school, like i said you are tying to prove a point you don't have and that no one else is discussing.

You can have the best script in the world with the greatest plot or the worst with the worst plot, it's not the director or the writers call, because NOTHING gets made without the say so of the studio heads and they are the ones that are running the show and ultimately decide what get's made and what doesn't. Unforturenatly it is they who decide just how "black" or "urban" a movie should or shouldn't be, and I assure you not a single one of them truely has a clue about black or urban culture other than what they've seen on the news or read in some paper or have been told by their own non black or non urban think tank what it should be.

Granted some directors have a little more pull than others, but unless they themselves are in a position to bank role the film themselves then they will always have to answer to the powers that be. It was this very reason why Mel Gibson ended up bank rolling "The Passion of the Christ" out of his own pockets, because he didn't want anyone trying to tell him how he should make this film that he felt so passionately about. He wanted to keep it true to "His" vision weather it be right or wrong. And because he did this himself he also had a win fall that hasn't been heard of in the film industry since Lucus first did Star Wars and choose to only keep the marketing rights to the franchise and we all know how well that turned out for him........

P.S. your title for this trend really do **** a*s, it could very easliy be taken out of context as it already has been by some very weak mind people on the forum... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you really want to see some good films you will have to look at some of the independents.

Two of my favorite movies have a majority black cast, I'm not sure about direction/production though.

1. Glory - Denzel & Morgan - Probably in my top 10 movies of all time a great story about the first black troops to fight for the U.S.

2. Rosewood - Ving Rhames in a sad movie about a racial massacre in a small town in FL.

What about the comedy genre: The first two Friday movies, The Kings of Comedy, Bootycall, How to Be a Player, Scary Movie (1st two)...

I will agree with your point that over the last 3 years or so most black movies have stunk it up but Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman are three of the best actors in Hollywood. Jamie Fox in Ray was one of the best selling movies last year.

Oh I can't forget Hotel Rwanda that is one of the best movies I've seen in a while
