I'm sure there are more that have been forgotten but it just goes to prove the point that there are way too many metal genres. Anytime something original sounding comes out everyone has to rush to call it something. Why? It's stupid and pretty pointless if you ask me. Oh well I'm done ranting.

not as much into metal as i used to be, but one of my old favorite metal bands, and they even had an album called Black Metal, was a group called Venom....Kinda a precursor to Slayer...lol

Well I like some screming shit, so not all is lost, but stuff like mudvayne, slipknot,gwar and shit like that. I usually listen to alternative and classic rock though.

venom was some wicked sh!t. slayer can't compare to the satanity of venom. of course, slayer was more mainstream satanic metal, and better in my opinion.

ok i saw your name and thought of thrash so has anyone heard the new magadeath its like there old old sturr when they were really thrash it kicks *** and the new metallica is supposed to be like the old stuff but ill belive it when i see it and i think its funny how megadeath just did this come bak thing into the thrash just like anthrax did when they came out with weve come for you all
