Reading....

It's all BS. If it weren't, every album maker would switch to black discs as a cheap way to preserve quality in a CD.

I buy black CDs simply because they suit my style. Goth and all that.

You could with ISOs and MD5 sums. If that's true, a black disc would be more accurate than a different colored disc. However, every LINUX distro I have (10 cds) were burned on silver cd-rs and have no out of place bits. That's saying a lot since each disc holds 700,000,000 bits.

The only advantage to black CDR's is they radiate heat quicker. My HU is like a little toaster.

i like yellow cd's. whenever i buy black cd's, they seem to be too big to insert into my cd slot.

You have to remember that cds you "burn" are not like cds you buy in stores, those are pressed from molds while cd-rs you burn have an ink layer that is etched into. It is much tougher for a laser to read burned cds, as you might notice CDs bought from stores can take alot more abuse and still work while cd-rs stop working after a few scratches. There could very well be truth in this article.
