bit rate of mp3's and wav files, which do you prefer?

was bored and listened to a few songs mp3's at 128 kbps and 256 kbps and 320 kbps and then compared them to the same songs with a wav file at 1411 kbps, found the sound is clearer just by a bit but a CD will always be the best sound right?

uncompressed is the best

i prefer 192kbps for mp3, seems to be the best compromise between quality and size

yes, you can hear the difference on some things. it depends on the codec. also as a general rule, the higher the better. higher means less data lost.
