anyone with experience please chime in. what is the biggest box you have done that functions good for daily use still. i am at 3.8 @ 33hz now and am wondering if ill notice more output, but less sq if i step it up to say...4.5 or so...

looking to have that extra space to get the woofer moving with less power yet still sound as good as it does now, which is very good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

any input? up until now, ive always been a guy that stays as close to the mfg specs as possible, but am lookin to finally break free (with some advice) and see if i can improve on it.

bump. cool thanks guys. ill probably try something like 4.5

thanks for that other thread though, hes tring 5 even so thatll be intresting to see how he likes it.

anyone else?

you wont lose SQ with a bigger box, or output as long as you have enough power to reach maximum excursion in a smaller box.

A larger box on average will have a less peaky response and have better low-end extension. The reason a larger box might get louder is because the cone has less pressure to compress inside the box when excurting, so it can reach maximum excursion with less power or motor strength.
