Bigbangtheory........?

so you are saying god has always existed? How is that possible, i am not a believer that something can come from nothing, in any way shape or form. Maybe i am wrong, but it is very unlikely.
Regardless to what happened, something could not just be infinite, matter and energy cannot be created in an infinite reality. Therefore we wouldn't be here.
OP, you are just question begging. Implicit in the question is the assumption that nothingness is the natural and original state of things, and somethingness therefore requires explanation. There is not only no reason to assume this, but according to physics, nothingness cannot even exist. Quantum mechanics suggests that the closest to nothingness there is a quantum field of instability. So the question is both unjustified, and unintelligible with respect to what we know about the universe.

I sure as hell can. When you say something such as, "People were not smart more than 100 years ago" I believe i have the right to.
think of how many more technological things we have invented since 1908, and then tell me we are not alot smarter than the people 100 years ago.

meh on your picture.

How come science is asked to prove itself, but God is somehow not required to prove itself?

interesting, well, i didn't really know that. But do you have a link to that?

Because God is insecure and wants people to worship him. By giving people the option, it makes the feeling that much more intense.
I see human life as a test of free will, in a sense. Do we ignore the needs of others and focus on our selfish desires? Or do we strive to do what is right and avoid giving in to the temptation of instant gratification/greed/revenge/envy/etc..

I know alot of people argue that you're then just 'holding back and restricting yourself from enjoying things' and shit like that...

The basics lies in faith. Some people have the paradigm (myself included) that things exist within a certain construct. Others believe the paradigm I hold is flawed and things (God) exists orthogonal to that construct. If you take the straight science...there is difficulty in believing. If you have faith in something greater than us, greater than we can imagine; God enters.

I am not certain. I am not at the point where I can believe in God because the payoff is greater than not believing. My faith is based on math....and that is shaky.

Just because we know much much more doesn't make us "smarter"
We are definitely smarter, look at the atomic bomb. It itself is proof that we have broken new ground and are much smarter, well at least the man who invented were. Our brains are getting smarter, i don't think we just recently advanced technologically in the past 100 years for another reason.

No I don't have a link, and I don't feel like searching. Learned it in class.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The payoff is what it means to you, in all honesty. If your faith doesn't mean shit to you, and you just pray/go to church/etc because you think you'll go to heaven for it, you may as well not do any of those things.
