I had the same problem on my 500/1....
take the back of the amp off and remove the cover, you will then have access to the screw head better, not to mention you HAVE to do this to get the screw out reguardless cause the type screws they use won't screw all the way out unless you do this.
then go get an ez out bit from Ace harware, make sure it is a small one. Or get a left handed drill bit small enough it isn't wider than the threads. Put the drill on slow and SLOOOWLY back it out. make sure to get it in the center of the screw as well. It should only take a little from the drill then it should be loose enough a scerw driver can do the rest.
When I did mine I went ahead and replace ALL screws: Pos, Ground, Rem, Speaker. with new Allen headed screws. Which is what JL puts in them now.
