yea, i was being serious when i posted the info about the 5-Axis. from what you said, it kinda sounds like your doing something like what was done on Unique Whips about 2 years ago, with Tony Stewart's hurst. except, if i remember correctly, they did theirs in a motorized cabinet of some-sort. possibly something to look into??? in any case, GL with the build, im sure we would all love to see it be done properly.

Mine won't be motorized. And I'll make sure the quality of work is leaps and bounds better than what Unique Whips does. 90% of the work they do is crap. I can't believe they get so many high-profile customers. It makes me cringe.

After talking about this with the local shop I frequent, it sounds like making this a floating monitor will be too flimsy on my daily driver. I'd definitely mount it to the floor, but I'd also need to reinforce on the side by mounting it to the B-pillars as well. Instead, I'd need to build a frame/cabinet/wall behind the front seats and flush the monitor into that. This may take up more room than I want, and therefore this idea looks like it may get tossed aside. Oh well.

Anyone running a big monitor, like 40" or larger in their vehicle?
What holds up best to jarring and vibration? LCD or plasma? Which one is lighter? I'm interested to see different methods of mounting one as well.

I've got some serious custom stuff underway in my Explorer right now, and I'd be mounting this behind the front seats, either connected to the floor or to the roof.

I had a 20" in the back of my wall and it was nice, turned a lot of heads and gave me something to do at car shows. Replacing it with a 37" this year

I have 2 15'' elo touchscreens, they are lcd.. .i know a guy that sells larger for really cheap, and they are toouchscreens... real cheap like 1/6 th of orig price.. on all kinds of sizes
