A pair of 3" coils aren't going to like 10k... at all
If you're smart you can run a 5K amp to a single sub (ditto 10K to 2 subs). Over 5K and things can break really quick, not just burning coils, but coil lead to tinsel joint is popular and you can start to shred cones and hurt surrounds.

You can, but your hardly ever using all 10k. He might as well save money and do a 6-8kw setup and not have to worry about hurting things as much and save some money. Even if these subs can "handle" this power, we all know it's well into all kinds of power compression at that point (thermal/bl). He'll be just as loud on a significantly smaller amp (i bet he gains around .5db between 6k and 10k) If he isn't going to add a sub or go to a 4inch coil, then it's a waste in my eyes.. But I'm on a budget recently so maybe that messes with things lol.

5k to 6k won't be any gain worth noting. 5k to 10k will be. DD subs has this ability to just keep getting louder with power.

Compared to subs with worse cooling, sure but there is no magic fairy dust here.. If your already on 5k, so 2500 watts a piece, your not going to gain much anymore. No sub on earth isn't already into power compression by 2500 watts, that's just too much current. I'm using a 6inch coiled driver right now and even it would be nearing limits thermally by 2k in terms of linear SPL/power gains.. Could it take more for a burp.. Sure. I know someone who did 4kw to one free air for a while testing it for mechanical noises. It's AES rated at 2kw so it can def handle 8kw peaks and then going right back to a 2kw average for at least 2 hours straight.

Regardless, If you gain more than a decibel, I'd be greatly suprised, and even at 1db, your not going to hear any real difference for the extra money your going to be dumping. If you want more ouput try a different box, 6th order, tapped horn, something lol. At least that might gain you a decibel or more over certain frequencies. At the end of the day, no matter what you put on those power wise, it's still just 2 12's.. your only going to get so much out of that and power is the last place I'd be looking if your already on 5k.

Anyway between all 3 I'd do the M4a unless you really liked your dc5k. All 3 are good amps so pick whatever you'd feel the best about running. Personally, I don't like AB very much so that's why it'd be out for me. Realistically I'm sure it's just as good as the other 2.

This man builds subs and repairs subs for a living. As you can see he's pretty quick after messing with LOTS of different subs to put 9500's right in with the rest of the well designed 3inch coiled drivers.. 2500 watts.
