Can I use 1 or 4 guage replacement battery cables-From Aadvance Auto-- in the Big 3???? If not where could I purchase all the equipment for this project????

wire is wire. i doubt walmart sells 1/0 power wire. i would recommend doing it in 1/0 guage power wire

you get an inline anl fuse holder. you fuse it according to the thickness of wire. with 1/0 guage i would say 250-300 amp fuse

If you run an external fuse, wont your car see its not getting current through the stock fuse and put up an annyoing warning light???

I doubt there is a sensor connected to that thats going to mess with you

Only reason to fuse the alt to batt is if your wire is running close to the engine block...

if it's running close to the engine block what is that suppose to do to the wire? I thought it was acting as a fail switch in case the alt pushes too much current to the battery so it won't overcharge/explode.

I know about the fuse holder...How do you connect wire to fuse? do you have to cut it or does it plug right into each end of the fuse holder? I imagine it will look similar to the 4 guage wire I have running from my positive terminal back to the amp. I don't know how they fused the wire. I never did an install but think I can tackle the Big 3.
