If you're THAT worried about it, to listen to someone that has no idea what he's talking about, then just run a line from the alternator to the solenoid, then from the solenoid to the battery. Although, I don't see that being a huge improvement over stock... Your dad is a douchebag, and you shouldn't listen to him, unless you're douchebag jr.?

Come one. The Alt will drain the battery with a cable running straight to the battery from the Alt. Does your dad know how many cars are just like that from the factory. New cars on the lot would be having dead batts every week lol. Mechanic for 15 years yickes.
