wait i just called my dad and he said that running alt to batt will leave the alt on and it will drain my batt so he said that it wont work

lol, I remember when I first got into car audio...my dad told me adding a second battery was stupid and the lady at the local shop said I should get a cap and he agrees...

I stopped taking my dad's advice on electrical subjects after that

yeah, I dont even bother mentioning anything to him because he thinks everything audio i put in my car is "stupid" and the second he hears one slight hint of bass he complains. lol

I'm 26 now and when I hear someone else playing their stereo next to me I think "what a douchebag!"

The point of a stereo is for the person paying all that money to enjoy it... not for everyone else to hear it. It's annoying to everyone else on many levels. First, you are forcing something on them they didn't choose. It's like ear-****.

Next, they feel sorry for you because you're crying out for attention.

Your dad fears you are THAT GUY... and doesn't want you to be because he loves you.

If you're THAT worried about it, to listen to someone that has no idea what he's talking about, then just run a line from the alternator to the solenoid, then from the solenoid to the battery. Although, I don't see that being a huge improvement over stock... Your dad is a douchebag, and you shouldn't listen to him, unless you're douchebag jr.?
