Since my alternator is extremely hard to get to, could I cut the original wire off of the alt and run it into a fuse holder and then run to the battery with a bigger gauge wire? So basically what I am asking is if its worth while to have like 1-2ft of stock 6 gauge wire with the rest being 0 gauge to the battery? Will the 6 gauge be to big of a bottleneck?

you have been here 1 month longer than me.. not to mention i say "this" because i got it from "bodybuilding.com" and ive been a member there for like 4 years...

ok look.....throwing a fuse inbetween the two wire sizes defeats the purpose of having the larger wire... Your pretty much decreasing the amount of energy allowed to pass through the bigger wire... so basically dont do it! waste of time! do it right the first time so there is no second time!
