BIG 3 question

Planning of doing the big 3 upgrade on my jeep. I heard I should make the fuse match the gauge of the wire but don’t know what size fuse I need. So, what size fuse should I use for 4 gauge wire?

This would be for alt+ to battery +

a 120A or equlivant fuse is fine.

oh yea is 4 guage too small for 1500 watts?

no 4 gauge is more than enough for 1500 watts, as of now I run 6 GA for 1800 watts and have never had any problems, though I do plan on going with 4 GA sooner or later

depends on the length of the wire.......for a short run....4ga is fine for that kind of wattage

If you play tones at full volume you will need more than 4ga.

I highly doubt you do so you are fine

im pretty sure you need 150amp fuse. your protecting the cable so find out how many amps a 4 gauge can take and fuse it with its maximum capacity.
