big 3 problems

i dont know how to do that....care to explain how?....i finally got the connecter to fit....and i put the wire on the alt....but havent connected it to the batt yet

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif take it and connect it to the black terminal on your battery and start your car.

no, actually pretend like the alternator is an amplifier.. and the battery is a battery..

just put a fuse in that **** line the same as the line to your amp is fused, same shit different wire.

i dont even know how to install an amp.....but i get what you're talkin about....i'll do it tomorrow....its late and i dont have a fuse....should i just get one from my local audio shop?......i'll need a fuse holder too right?

the metal on the alternator, and the ring terminal since they will carry the same current when you're done
or dont cover it, nothing goes down there that could arc, i didn't cover mine, i've torn all my boots off, those things are ugly and dont matter.

make sure you fuse the + part of the big three with something the same amperage of the alternator.
I thought you were supposed to use a fuse the maximum ampacity of the wire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif . At least that's what is said in the big 3 tutorial.

i dont even know where to get a good circuit breaker.....the ones ive seen from checklingonline were 15 - 20 amps.....plus i wouldnt know how to install it....i think i'll just get a 250 amp fuse

circuit breakers have been known to fuse open as well.. which means that it wont disconnect the current.. which means you could burn up and die.
shiiiiit...i think i'll stick with the fuse for sure then....and alt to batt is the only one i need to fuse right?.....the other 2 connections dont seem like it would make any sense to do so

yeah just fuse red or hot lines.. shit that goes to the positive terminal on the battery.

grounds wont start fires.. maybe in your case... i dont know you could start a fire with anything it looks like.

just kidding.

but yeah, i know the big three says make the fuse the size of the wire..

but a 0 guage wire can hold a ton of amperage beign only 3 feet long... so i dont think that sounds like a good idea.

the wire would melt before the fuse pops.. sounds like a bad idea.

thats why i make the fuse there the same amperage as the alternator's max output, that way it blows when something goes wrong.

Maximum amperage on a 1/0 guage wire in that length is 300 i believe, but 250 should be good.
