Big 3 made things worse

everytime I do the big 3 to a car I still keep the stock wiring in also, I mean the current will take the path of least resistance so its not like it would hurt the big 3,and in that way say if the new wiring ever gets loose or out of the ring terminals, you wont have any problems with it dying

ehh, seems sketchy, just ditch the original wiring. 0 gauge with badly connected stock wiring doest add up.

I'm going to add a ring terminal to the splice stock wire and see what happens. If it doesn't change anything then ill remove the Big 3 wires to see if my problem goes away.

i add it on to the original wiring, a lot of the times that alternator wire goes to a weird distro block or something of that sorts, so i just add the 0 gauge form the alt to battery. Less resistance should not cause your car to stumble, something isn't right...

I added a battery plug terminal to the splice alternator. Drove the car around the block and it seems it got a little better.

I'll post again later on when I get to work(30 minute drive) and let you guys know if anything changed.

Step 1: got to autozone or advance and get a free alt/battery test. Cost nothing and doesnt take long to have done. Then troubleshoot from there.

Can't I use a Multi-meter to test the battery or alternator to see the volts they're putting out?

A meter will give you a very basic measurement, but alternators, and batteries, behave differently with different loads and rmps. You won't get enough info with just a meter.

Get rid of the splice and run a new heavy wire straight from the alt to the battery/fuse box. Run wires from the battery to your system.

Got rid of the splice, added a terminal this morning. Im running the stock wire + 0 gauge Monster wire from the alternator to the battery.

Good. If you did the other parts of the Big3 correctly (chassis and battery ground) then your wiring should now be good. The only thing now would be the alternator or the battery. It's also possible your just drawing too much power for your car electrical to handle and you need a HO alt and more big batteries. I believe the camaro does not have a large electrical system.

Battery ground and chassis grounds are in the stock places, just added the 0 gauge wire. Hopefully it's just a weak alternator.

Just got to work. Nothing changed. It only stumbles when I come to a stop. Everything is normal when the car is moving. It stumble before when I had the volume high for a long time w/the old system(800 watts). Yesterday I hooked up the new system(1500 watts). Turned it on for about 5 minutes and then the car started acting up like it is now.

If it's cutting out when you are idling, it definitely sounds like the alt...IMHO. Get 'er checked out.

What kind of amp? Class D or Class AB? Do you know the output of your current alt? I think it's like only 80 amps. You may have accidently damaged your alternator or battery by drawing more current than your little electrical can supply. 1500 watts of class AB amps can easily kill a small electrical system like the camaro.

If your alt is bad you might as well get a HO or figure out how to install two stock alternators and at least 2 or 3 big deep cycle batteries.
