I am trying to upgrade my stock wiring and install a HO alt, i did the battery to chassis ground just need to clean off the paint better, and i took a few pics to see whats the best engine to chassis ground spot, and should i fuse the power wire going from the alt to the battery

the loacation on the firewall i think is the stock ground for the chassis to the engine, so if i used that spot which would be the best place to connect the ground to on the engine out of the places i marked

and is this a good ground besides just needs to clean the paint off of the firewall, its all in 1/0

ok both are about in the same location the one is used to connect the fuel rail to the engine to support it

and also does it matter if my alt to battery wire is around 6ft or so, and do i have to use a fuse holder or is that incase of a short

its incase of a short. just make sure you electrical tape your ring terminals and make sure they are on there GOOD and you wont have a problem. because if it falls out of the ring terminal and hits metal. boom its shorted and you have a big problem. hope this helps

ok i will use the closest one since i have a piece already that will fit the length perfect, also i have a piece of 1/0 that is 6ft can i use a 6ft piece from the alt to the battery or is that too long,

also is the firewall a good place for a ground of should i connect to the frame somewhere underneath or does it not matter since stock ground is loacted on the firewall

Thanks everyone for your help

yes its incase of a short. its up to you if you want to use it or not. its definatly not a bad idea. you could save your alt if you short it. but i think most people dont fuse it. if it needs to be 6ft then its needs to be 6ft. itll be fine. wont notice any differance.

also will i get better results/higher voltage if i ground the engine to the frame underneath instead of the chassis or does it not really matter as long as its a clean metal surface.

also for the power wire should i use two fuse holders or only one

and for getting the pulley off wat tool do i use to get the nut off the pulley
