the nut will not matter. What matters is the post and the base the wire is suppose to touch. If the eye of the terminal is real big then you dont have as much contact with the base let alone the post. So then you rely more on the nut to help than what you should.
I have 04 4cyl Accord and had the nastiest dimming. Nothing worked. Did a search online and found out that there was a voluntary recall on my fuse box for "bad connections" that would cause the lights to dim when accessories are powered (rolling up my windows would dim my lights pretty badly).
I had the fusebox replaced and the dimming is tolerable. Would like to see if you found out if anything else helped your electrical?
