Better SQ?

I was curious how I could get better SQ from my 2 Memphis 12's ?

At this point the only thing I know that would help is Dynamat and a crossover. What do you all think? em I right in thinking those things would help? Or is there something else I'm not thinking of?

Please help me with this my system is really pounding hard but it just dont sound "smooth" enough. The only way I can describe the sound is its harsh as hell. If you need more info to help me just ask I would be more then willing to tell you anything and everything about my system. I just want to figure this out.

Get a crossover, and an amp for your highs. That will probably do wonders by itself.

Got one of the newer Kenwood amps in it now and it still sounds shitty..

Whats the difference between an EQ and a Crossover?

Oh and I'm using a big sealed box already.
