it does well in either. around 1.2 ported or . 6 sealed iirc. your little toyota will have alot of cabin gain down low. id go about 1 cube ported in the lower 30's personally.im gonna run it in winisd and check out some box size options.
You need to remember that you're going to have a bloated bottom end with cabin gain up to +10 dB down low. If you have the space for it, I'd do an EBS enclosureat 1.3 cubes tuned to 28hz winisd is showing a dead flat curve from 30hz up. nice driver.
Dead flat is almost impossible in car especially without RTA. Just do whatever sounds best to you once you get it installed. Even I don't like a perfectly flat curve - I like a bit more bass/midbass and a rising top end in the treble.yeah but with the eq and epicenter i should be able to get around the peaks and valleys of cabin gain. box is essential but the processors will be a big help in getting dead flat response.
me too. and there is a local shop here that has a audiocontrol sc-3055. thats an rta as well as spl meter right?Dead flat is almost impossible in car especially without RTA. no. not with that sub anway. sq usually lives in the low 30's or high 20's ported, but some subs are built to be tuned higher and will sound nice tuned to 38 hz. that sub wont like higher tunings i dont think.tune higher then?
it will be a very long port at 27, unless you sacrifice port area, which can wreak havoc on sq. 1 cube at 30-32 would probably work fine. if you want it a little boomier, around 1.2 at 32-35. if you want pure sq with a big sacrifice in loud, do .6 sealed.i didnt think so. i was thinking between 27 and 30
