better sq with 300 watts rms? IDQ 10 or SSA Dcon 10?

yeah but with the eq and epicenter i should be able to get around the peaks and valleys of cabin gain. box is essential but the processors will be a big help in getting dead flat response.

im gonna run it in winisd and check out some box size options.
it does well in either. around 1.2 ported or . 6 sealed iirc. your little toyota will have alot of cabin gain down low. id go about 1 cube ported in the lower 30's personally.

probably gonna go ported cuz one 10" @300 watts versus components @200 watts right in my face. i think i will need as much output from the sub as possible to keep up with the comps.

Dead flat is almost impossible in car especially without RTA. Just do whatever sounds best to you once you get it installed. Even I don't like a perfectly flat curve - I like a bit more bass/midbass and a rising top end in the treble.

me too. and there is a local shop here that has a audiocontrol sc-3055. thats an rta as well as spl meter right?

i didnt think so. i was thinking between 27 and 30
it will be a very long port at 27, unless you sacrifice port area, which can wreak havoc on sq. 1 cube at 30-32 would probably work fine. if you want it a little boomier, around 1.2 at 32-35. if you want pure sq with a big sacrifice in loud, do .6 sealed.

Both the Dcon and IDQ are excellent SQ choices, both are proven sub woofers. Keeping in mind there are so many factors that go into accurate sound reproduction past the sub woofer. It is a win win, specs wise the IDQ favors sealed a little more, where as the Dcon is more suited for ported then the IDQ, but either can be installed in either enclosure with great results.

without the resonant frequency of your truck, and alot of trial and error to interperet the graphs in winisd, youll never get flat response by box design alone. it looks like you already planned around this by sampling the signal anyway.
