Better competition setup?

Which would possibly get louder on the meter. One 12" Type R( in a box just for burps) or 2 12" Type R on 2200 watts. The two would have more cone area, but the one would have more powa. that depends on the vehicle.. sometimes you only have so much space to work with-a regular cab truck, for example. Tommyk90, for example only uses 1 10" woofer, which happens to be a type r, and is hitting some AMAZING numbers with it. 2>1? not always the case. 1 woofer, in a properly built burp box > 2 in a dd or cramped box becuase you dont have the space to make the comp box for them.

I've got a trunk car, so that's what makes me wonder.

Depends on if you have the room or not. I had 2 12" Type-Rs, and I could fit the box, but it would choke the cabin so badly so I went with 1 15". The 15" has outdone the Type-Rs by a few db and I've tried numerous boxes for the Rs. So the moral is, 2 is not always better than 1.

I would go with the two Type-Rs though instead of the single. I don't know how well the single would do with 2kw+ in a trunk. . . not good I'd say.

15 has came to mind, but I have 2 12" in my room. Might just order a 15" and use the 12's for other purposes.

theres not much advantage going from 2 12s to 1 15.. id actually say its a disadvantage..

youre still in the same class (at least in db drag) and youre opting for less cone area witht he same power.

We'll I got thinking in school, I know the amp I'm set on buying, and I already have to subs in my room. It would be pointless to not try it out and test it. Having a trunk car isn't the greatest, but my car seems to be pretty solid and tends ot get loud easier than other trunk systems I have heard. So its worth a try.
