Hey so im trying to listen to some peoples advice and get a well built amp. I was thinking about getting the rockford p1000bd which i can get for around 380. Not i know this amp is under rated but my question is for half the price is there better option. The sub is a re sx18 d2. I know i can get a few 2k amps for almost half the price.

RF makes great amps; there's no doubt about that. Even their Prime line is decent, but because of their name you're going to be paying a premium.

That Soundqubed DDtC posted looks good. You should also check out Precision Power and American Bass brands.

Some feature no RF amp has that the entry level Korean amp has.. Phase shift, gain knob not bass boost, strapping capabilty(the T2500 has it), the ability to run a stupid low resistance daily, the birth sheets you get with RF are misleading.. They are tested on benches and resistors at frequencies you will not use. You are not only paying for a name but marketing.

How much store credit do you have with them? The soundqubed amp is $269 shipped. Unless you have a ton of credit with them, I say use it for something else with sonic. I would go with the CT sounds amp for $310 shipped - ask dmac1991 where to get it. If you must go with sonic, get the RF - I don't think they sell anything much better for that price.

Amplifiers is not only about how much power they can push, but also it's all about pushing a loud beautiful sound !!

I would recommend Rockford Fosgate amplifier over anything.

if you have the purchasing power then go for RF (i recommend power series), otherwise seek for a cheaper one

Please show me one built that's a SQ build that runs rockford anything. You like the 60% you get with the power series amps?

There are lots of amps I'd recommend over the Rockford.

Just recently I ran a PPIs2000.1d at both .25ohm and .5ohm daily and clamped it doing rated power over 14v.

The CT1400.1 is another that ive ran with good results.

the SQ1200 is a solid amp and they are known to take some abuse.

Or try the new IA10.1. Im currently running the 20.1 and the 3.4 from IA. IA has always been known to make some great amps that put out good power and can be dropped real low.

So rf is not as good people as claim? I do feel they are over priced. I really want to try the brutus elite that smeade tested. The one i was looking at is going for 380 but its only 1g which i dont believe would be pushing the sub. I feel i need to give this sub 1.5k of super clean power. What do you guys think

With RF, you pay a lot for the hype and marketing. I've never used RF equipment, but from what I see and own, you can get equipment that's better at a fraction of the cost. Pretty good items are already listed in this thread. Good luck with your purchase.

Rockford's been around for a long time in the amp game. Their stuff is good, but you're paying extra for the name. There have been a lot of good suggestions made - cheaper amps that put out more power, but these companies aren't as "mainstream", so you're probably not going find them on Sonic. If you've got credit there you could always spend it on something else down the road and get one of the things mentioned in this thread elsewhere. If the Brutus Elite is Hifonics like I think it is, it should be a decent amp. Their high end stuff is generally well-received around here. If Steve Meade tested is in his dyno and it did rated (I don't know, haven't bothered to check) the you have numbers to back it up. I don't know the numbers for that amp, but your sub is 1k RMS, so don't get too crazy; make sure you're at a stable impedance, the gains are set right, and you're dipping too low on voltage drop.
