best wiring options

so this is what I have. I have a kicker 10" L7, dual 2 ohm. I believe it handles 600 RMS watts. The amp I have is a Orion 8002. It puts out 800 X1 @ 4 ohms, 400 X2 @ 2 ohms, and 200 X2 @ 4 ohms. right now, I have the sub wired in series, to one channel of the amp, with the gain at about half. let me know the better way to wire this, and set the gain and stuff.

if its already wired like this, this is the best thing to do anyway, you wont get any better than this.
