Best way to wire Head Unit?

I have the Sony CDXGT550UI

I also have the Crunch P1400.4

The way I currently have it wired is this:

The Sony has two(2) pre-amp outs.. Front and Back/Sub

I ran two sets of RCA cables to the Crunch and plugged the "front" RCA's into Channels 3/4 on the Crunch, and the Back/Sub into Channels 1/2.

From there I bridge Channels 1 + 2 to connect to my 2 12" Polks, and Channel 3 and 4 both connect up to my Rear Speakers.

What I'm wondering is if I should set this up differently? I don't have much money to buy more/replace these parts, only a spare 75Wx2 amp and a 2-channel RCA to Speaker wire adaptor.

The reason I ask is because I never hear my front speakers. They are connected directly to the head unit via that big mess of cables that come out the back, but it ***** because they are always overpowered by the rear setup. What should I do? Should I change anything?

Attached are pictures of my Amp, to help visualize or whatever.

not sure if i read close enough, but hook ur front speakers up to ur amp first. then throw out ur rear speakers, or if you feel the need for them, hook those up to ur head unit instead.

What he said ^^^^

My current system as well as many others I have installed run an Apm to the front speakers and an Amp to the Sub

I would do that, but you will need to purchase a pair of bass blockers for the speakers off the radio power,or all you are gonna hear is nasty popping all day long and will be damaging your speakers!!!Cost about less than 20 bucks for a set. If you can stand it till you get about 40.00 to get a dist block and a pair of female to male rca adapters to add the other amp you have ??????

Really? It's better to power the small 5" speakers in the front than the 6x9's in the back? That seems a little odd to me...

Is that so I get better High's from the front, lows are covered by the bass, and the 6x9's are just the in-between?

Well, you dont have your stage set up rt.You have robbed the supply from your front to the rear for the 6x9 and you have nothing up front at all.It would be the most logical and better way to do.Yet,you only have a 4 ch amp for the entire system. You have a couple more options, but it will not sound balanced. You can keep the rca the same and run the entire system in stereo mode, with 1 sub,and 1 6x9 on the 3ch,and the other on the 4ch.and in stereo mode, and run wire to your front speakers from the amp on 1/2,and be all in stereo mode selector in 4ch,Or?? keep the rca the same and leave the ch/3n4 in bridge mode on the subs(not sure what coils u have SVC2or 4,or Dvc 2or 4ohm??) and put the 6x9,and the front on ch 1/2 in stereo mode with the selector on 3 ch.But the rear 6x9 are still going to be overwhelming than the front stage set up being all powered from the same stage.Your amp will be in 3ch mode. Not going to sound right loud in the rear and dim in the front. You can add that 2nd amp you have to seper the front and rear 6x9,and will be able to balance the entire system out.About all I know that you can do of what I know with what you have going on here???Yet, the first advice seems the proper way if you want to keep in mono load and able to balance front to rear...My opinion??

I'm sorry, but I couldn't quite understand that...

I'd like to make sure all my speakers are powered by amps. The head unit is terribly weak and doesn't make any audible sound. Should I be using the Line Out on the amp and wire everything back to my front speakers? Should I take the wires currently going to the fronts and just wire an amp to those?

And what I explained in the OP isn't a good idea, huh? To have the fronts on their own channel and the back/sub going through as one? Because they are RCA its low-input, would that affect it?
