i was about ready to throw back in my old amp but it keeps popping fuses as soon as power hits it. in line fuse is alright and all the connections are solid. it started a couple years back when i took it out and it did it out of nowhere. easy fix? would appreciate the help.

Sounds like the power/ fuse are grounding out.Bad ground?? But for sure something that is hot is grounding out.May have to take plate off and check the board see if the power wire is touching the ground or if the ground wire no longer attatched to the board. Cold solder it back.Make sure the power connections are not grounding to the board,as too the wiring at the fuse holder.About all i can tell you without looking myself. But something hott is deff grounding out

Thanks fellas. Im gonna crack it open with I get back home it really happened out of nowhere. It was about 2-3 years ago and has sat ever since and I never got around to looking at it.

lol, every component in that amp does something. that resistor goes to either 1, or both power supply fets on that side, allong with the other ones next to it, and the big green one. starting there, use a dmm to measure a short across the legs of those transistors on that side of the board (q141, q139) and basically all the "Q" 's mounted to the heat sink, they should not read low or no resistance. if it is marked "D" then it's a rectifier diode, and you will get low readings normally. usually a bad cap will be swollen, and/or leaking/exploded, so you can visually see that they went bad, but to test them they have to be isolated. also, check diode "d125" to make sure it only allows current one way,, and not both.

What are you missing near the Earth/ ground area where the little white square box is that has con101?? looks like it is missing??? Something used to be joined at the solder joints??? 253kipg/ 2nd pic

Not far from the r241 just the other side of the bar there is a lt blue/green resister or? next to the c161 or c181? the connection Good or ?? can take a small screwdriver and pull up a little to see if it is still connected too?? Same with the Earth.Could be the r 241??

You most likely have at least 1 shorted power supply fet(probably more) . I find that most of the time the power supply blows after a failure in the output section. When the output transistors short the amp starts to draw a ton of current and sometimes before the fuse even has a chance to blown the power supply fets short. Good chance thats what you have here. For the amp to be reliable you are gonna need to replace all of the power supply fets. Even the ones that aren't shorted as they all saw the same abuse that destroyed the others. I'd check and or replace the gate resistors and the power supply driver transistors as well. In some cases you even need a new power supply driver IC . This is just what the power supply needs if you have shorted fets. Output section is a different story. Do you have a multimeter? We can do some quick testing to see how bad it really is.

well, its a connector, that is not installed, looks to be for either a cooling fan, or lighting..... notice on the other end by the ic, there is also a missing transistor and resistor, and you can faitnly make out the traces from it headed to the connector....... it's just an option for the board that was not installed, nothing to worry about
