make you a deal- ship me all 3 amps, and i'll ship back the ed and Memphis repaired, and possibly upgrade that weak ed power supply section, if possible. i replied in your other thread what test to run in that ed, but i can see what happened to the other 2. it does sound like you need to re-think your approach to how you feed, draw off, and/or push/clip your amps, but i don't know the whole story on your side.....

haha the memphis and soundstream were never hooked up by me nor were ever in any of my cars. they were given to me guys. take it easy.

the ED amp might just be shipped back to ED. they said they would fix it for free, just wondering if i could do it myself and save some time and money

the only way to diagnose an amp is to bench test it with a scope. if you know the incident that caused the failure, you can usually expedite the process by looking in a specific location.

pictures are nice, but not enough to tell you what's wrong. normally, if you have to ask if you can fix it yourself, you can't. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

usually when something fails visibly, other components have failed electrically.

fyi- no. that is not how you diagnose them, unless you are tracking a distortion, or poor/low sound level problem. you start with a dmm, and usually find the problem there, and then go through the rest, if needed, and bust out the scope for clamping rms, while it is working. i cannot see how a scope can do anything to an amp that shorts the power inputs..........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

On the memphis amp.. Where the coil is/green and red..I would take a closer look/at the connections/solder joints at the board.Almost under the coil/ my Autotek mean machine 99 came loose after 17 years of pleasure. You can take a small screwdriver and pick or pull just a touch see if they are connected or not???I gave some thoughts on the ed amp on your last posting, but a fix for free is always NICE!! Would like to know the out come of the issues,as i am curious.Im no expert, just a reg guy that has been around car audio since 1989 and still enjoy/tinker a bit.Parts? some can still be found at radioshack,at a computer repair shop/store???May even find an amp at the pawn that you can use parts off of as well??I have done that before???

um, donor parts could work in a pinch, and i've done it, mostly just to get the thing working, but i replace the whole set, as you always should, so it is balanced, and reliable.
