Best way to prep surface for Deadening?

I used it for my truck i used paint tinner water downed around the areas that just the car cleaner wasn't cutting it,,O yeah please use some rust remover on the bolts cuz when that shit rusts more and the dampness it gets all over your damping and runes it..happened around my bolts, but i lived in wet weather.

PPG DX-330 wax and grease remover. Best thing you can use IMO, doesnt eat pain at all. You can even use it in a spray bottle.

Prep-all.....it wont stip the paint and it removes all grease and wax.....

for the trunk i would just take a shop vac to get all the chunks of whatever might be in there out, then go to town with the simple green. allways worked for me.

Don't know what Tsnunami is, but if it's rubberized asphalt or anything other than butyl, you're wasting your time with the prep process.

paint thinner is petroleum based ....... water and "oil" don't mix, obviously this guy hasn't got a clue.

Anything that cleans away grease, grime, and build up, and dries fairly quickly.

Soap, water, denatured alcohol... If the surface isn't too dirty, then denatured alcohol only.

That's what I do. You don't need the soap and water unless things are really dirty. Denatured alcohol works really well because it removes grease and other residues and dries cleanly. It's gentler than brake cleaner and a lot less likely to strip paint. Brake cleaner is acetone, naptha, xylene, toulene and benzene - all very aggressive solvents. It'll do a great job but it's over kill.
