I am buying 2 sets of Alpine Type R Comps. Do I need a 4 channel amp to run F & R or a 2 channel amp for the fronts and run the rears off the head unit (kenwood x889)? And will it be ok to mount the amp in the trunk since I doubt I can fit it under either front seat?

Here are the speaker specs:

350W Peak Power

70W RMS

Frequency Response: 35Hz - 30kHz

Wave Guide

This is the 4 channel amp I was considering if I need that much.

Kicker KX650.4:

~ 2, 3, or 4-channel output

~ 81.25 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms

~ 163 watts x 4 at 2 ohms

~ 325 watts x 2 in bridged mode

~ Front and rear high-pass/low-pass crossovers (variable 50-200 Hz, 12 dB per octave)

~ Front & rear Bass boost (0-18 dB at 40 Hz)

~ Remote gain control with 25-foot cable

~ Frequency response 20-20,000 Hz

~ Requires 4-gauge power and ground leads

~ Unregulated Class A/B power supply

~ 22-9/16"W x 2-5/8"H x 10-1/4"D

4chan amp or 2chan for fronts and hu for rear (personally id amp the rears, then u got others who say dont even bother with rears, its personal preferance)

run fronts off front channel and rears off rear channels

that amp is fine 81.25 rms x4 @ 4ohms, ur speakers are rated at 70w rms, set the gain correctly and ur fine (pretty sure thay can handle 10w extra with no problem)

edit: mounting in the trunk is better i beleive, due to the fact theres more airspace. also if sum1 spills a drink/beer/anything all over the floor it wont damage ur amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
