Best way to paint my box...ideas

One can of roll on will do a six foot truck bed.

It says to use a light coat of the roll on as a primer and then add two top coats.

Looks easy enough.....messy and time consuming, but easy.

I bet the box will turn out rock solid.

It looks like the roll on would be easier. The spray on has to have a gun attached to the can.

I think rolling it on would give more control and less of a mess.

want it to look like its made of concrete?

2 cans of primer, and 2 cans of "granite" spray paint. this paint is about $8-$9 a bottle. it'll shoot out slightly chunky, but when it dries your box looks like concrete.

this guy did it with his box at the bottom of this craigslist post.

i did it with my old ti pro top, the silver ti cone with this color box looked sweet as hell.

what i used to do that always worked and was a little less time consuming than fiberglass n bondo but worked GREAT(mirror finish) was sand the box down to like a 220 or something, smooth but not glass, take a wood sealer in an aerosol can and wood seal the box (now it won't absorb the paint) you cannot sand the wood sealer (which is why the box has to be fairly smooth to begin with) take some high build primer and do 2 coats, hit it with 220, do a 3rd coat and hit it with 400, do a 4th and final coat and wet sand 600-800. Then 2 coats of color, wetsand at 1000grit, 1 final coat of color wetsand at 1500, and then 2-3 layers of clear, wetsand at 1500-2000.

yes its ALOT of sanding but its worth it, box will look like a mirror finish on a 5000$ paint job lol and you get to skip the bondo and fiberglass part
