Best way to go for a sub

Well I will soon be getting my a new amp and i am now looking for a sub to put into my room. The amp i am lookin to get does have a sub output so what all do i need? A plate amp to run the sub, right?.....also what is the best kind of home audio sub..I would like it to sound like my subs in my truck and not some cheap *** sub. Where is the best place to look? I don't want to spend over 200 bucks on it (including the amp for it) if that is possible, and i would like the most output as possible. Also I don't have a problem with building an enlosure for it. Any info is great cause i new to the home audio stuff (ps i only listen to music on it and no movies)

You can find a plate amp for under $100, look around the forums for AA Assassins, Shivas, Dayton References, etc...use the LFE out on your receiver (assuming it's a receiver) to provide a signal for the amp.

Even a few of those RE8's that are for sale would do a good job.

I know that brings you to twice what you wanted to spend, but it is a great bang for buck option still. You can save money and get a small plate amp, but then you have no room to grow. With that amp you at least have the option to run a beefier sub down the road and feed it 500watts.

Build a nice ported enclosure tuned low and I think this combo would kick good in the house.

If it fit's in your budget and has all the features you need then yes. I orefer Yamaha myself, but Sony is of course a good brand.
