Best way to clean out the gap in a motor? (PIC)

ok i got a motor and it has a bunch of metal shavings in it. whats the best way to get it out? i have tried a screw driver and vacuum but its not doing so well.... any ideas?

Take some tape....masking tape or clear tape work fine. Wind it tight sticky side out (like roling a piece of paper into a thin tube). If you roll it up thin enough you can slide it around in the gap and pull most everything out. You will probably need to do this 5 or 6 times normally. May take a while for you...that's a real mess.

I wrap a plastic zip tie with masking/painters tape, sticky side out.

Usually end up using a couple pieces if it's really dirty. You're going to need a whole roll. lol.

Metro Vac & Blow. It's a small vacuum with a 4hp motor and attachments that go as small as a straw. I use mine for auto detailing, but it works perfect with the small attachment for stuff like that.

The tape method like mentioned before. Be carefull not yo shove it down into the gap more

I'd blast about 100psi of compressed air and be sure to tilt it away from your face and wear safety glasses.

that will just move it around. i tried wiping the motor off and it just moved the shavings around. im working on it little by little with the tape and it seems to work so far. just got alot of work to do

looks like u drilled out a broken screw and didnt tape the gap off.

ur gonna have problems cause with that many chips there is gonna be some up under the top plate...

i got it in trade. i didnt do the mess im just trying to clean it up lol.

gap is almost clean though....
